Here is a quick breakdown of our seasonal priorities:
Winter is our chance to rest, relax a little, and plan for the next year.
Since the sun is down between 5-6pm throughout this season (and it’s really cold most of the time), we don’t spend as much time outside on the land and with the animals as during all other seasons.
This helps us slow down a little, focus on making sure we are set up for the upcoming year, and attempting to make any necessary changes.
Spring = baby season!
Our baby goats and lambs should start arriving in March/April each year and thus begins Spring full steam ahead.
For 2026:
- Goats – 7 does re-bred + 3 first timers (may or may not be bred)
- Sheep – 5 ewes re-bred + 2 first timers (may or may not be bred)
Summer is for hay season and the cows will have their calves!
For 2026:
- 3 cows were re-bred + 1 first time heifer (confirmed bred)
In Fall, we focus on Grass Fed Beef, pre-orders for next year’s calendar, and winterizing.
